Food Distribution
By Michael Francis | October 16, 2007
Distribution of food, the spread method (or transportation) of food from one place to another, is a very important factor in food service. When it decomposes, hunger, malnutrition and diseases may occur. In some periods of Ancient Rome, food distribution happened with the policy of providing free bread to its citizens in accordance with the provisions of the common good.
There are three main components of food distribution:
* Transport infrastructure such as roads, vehicles, railways, airports and ports.
* Technology and regulation of food goods, such as cooling and storage tank.
* Adequate source of supply and logistics, based on the demands and requirements.
